Drawing in the Moment
Wednesday, 9 March, 10am-4pm (1 hour lunchbreak)
Anne Ryan is an experienced educator, teaching and mentoring in a number of London’s Art Schools. She will be leading an all day workshop on drawing in the moment.
Anne Ryan’s work is constantly playful and surprising, as she mixes up a wide range of materials and cultural influences into her ‘cutout’ constructions. Sitting somewhere between painting and sculpture, her constructions are often installed in groupings which reveal connections between different pieces. There can be surprising shifts in tone when seen from different angles, creating an interactive viewing experience with complex, interconnected spaces. Drawing is central to the process. Anne’s work is widely shown, yet she maintains a sense of humour and generosity of spirit both in her work and in her teaching.
